It would be helpful if you had a "share this" option for the blog posts. This is a great post and would be great to send around.

Hi Dana,
You are right!!! I have met a few agents that have obtained leads, business and visits to their open houses because of their facebook posts.

In order to stay competitive, agents need to join networking sites to prospect, market and connect with others of same interests!!!.... Another professional networking site is "LinkedIn".

Wishing all a prosperous 2009!

Great News Iva!

It never hurts to take the extra step and open up a Facebook or a blog or any type of Social Networking tool. You never know!

Once you get the hang of it (and believe me, you will) you may enjoy it and in turn, that will get you more business!

Hi Dana, I still haven't joined the facebook network, despite that most, if not all of my friends have a facebook account. For the purposes of real estate marketing, i think that I may go that route and open up an account, for potentially more referrals and business. I recently started blogging, for the increase in real estate activity. Thanks for the info.

I've only just begun blogging and time will tell what the benefits are. My blog is about community events, local businesses, local news, and real estate news. I've received a lot of positive comments from the Chamber of Commerce, Community Chest, businesses, and others. The advice I've gotten is that the blog should be updated frequently, linked to all other social networking sites, and it should not be used to market listings. I would be interested in tips about how to use blogs, websites, and the internet (especially how to coordinate them all) to help my business.

The world is monitoring our Presidential Election and outcome and either candidate will have both a negative and positive effects on the global markets based on what they represent. In my humble opinion the public will wait and see if the new President delivers on campaign platforms. Couple that with our 10.5 trillion dollar debt, volatility on Wall Street, the impact that volatility has on individuals and credit markets, rising unemployment and our war obligations.... consumers will be slow to make major moves relative to housing unless necessary. We have to get through Christmas, the upcoming OPEC meetings and the outcome and effect at the gas pump and the election first. When the press makes numerous analogies to the Depression of 1929, people run for Pepto Bismol vs. an Open House. We all have to raise the bar professionally. If MLS takes 9 photos for a listing, make them excellent and upload 9. Stage homes; attend all showings representing your seller. Logic dictates, if the buying public is skittish at best, we better be the quintessential professionals!

I agree with both comments. However, some Realtors thing that on the Sold Property Search, MLS should list the Selling Broker for the public to see. Do you think it's better if the public can view who the selling Broker is when searching sold property data, or leave it as it is - with general information about the sold propery only?

Any thoughts.

I feel that this a great idea. The more information available to the customer, the more efficient the market will become. The entire process will become more accurate and the bridge between unrealistic buyers and sellers will be closed. We live in a new world of information and anyone who tries to covet that information will not succeed.
